I know it’s tough to believe you can reduce pain or even reverse a medical diagnosis. I’ve been there, filled with doubts and fears. I want to share my personal story to give you hope and show you that healing is possible.
When you’re in the middle of a health crisis, it feels impossible to imagine things getting better. I understand that feeling deeply. When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), it felt like my world was falling apart. But through my journey, I discovered something crucial about the healing process, which I call "pushing through the fire."
"Pushing Through the Fire" & What is Reverse Healing?
“Pushing through the fire” means enduring a challenging phase where symptoms can temporarily worsen before they improve. When you start giving your body what it needs, you might experience what’s known as reverse healing.
Reverse healing can feel discouraging because it often means your old symptoms come back with a vengeance. For instance, all my MS symptoms returned at one point. It felt like we were poking the bear, and all those symptoms resurfaced. But with my doctor's support, I pushed through it. On the other side of that fire was perfect health. All my symptoms vanished, and they haven't returned since 2018. I can’t emphasize enough how vital this retracing process is to your final goals.
Sound Familiar?
Many patients reach out, sharing their frustrations. One patient struggled with hot flashes. She'd been working with me for months, and while we initially helped, her symptoms came back. I explained she needed to push through the fire. It’s a tough but essential concept to grasp. These symptoms are part of the process and will eventually disappear.
Another patient had similar issues but understood the need to keep going. She diligently pushed through her symptoms, knowing they would pass. I see her as a true health warrior. Accept that this journey requires patience and persistence. Many people try something for a short period and give up when they don’t see immediate results. Healing is a long-term commitment.
What’s Ahead?
No more old, damaging habits; that’s what’s ahead. True healing requires dedication and patience, so stay committed even when it gets discouraging. Find your support system, whether it's friends, family, or a healthcare professional. Most importantly, celebrate your progress, no matter how small, because every step forward is a victory on your path to better health.
It's time—you’ve suffered enough. Get informed and take control of your immune health. Everything is 100% virtual, so there’s hope wherever you live. To request a consult, call me at 470-290-8025 or email office@drsusanmonias.com.
